Well i just finished a marantz 4300 quad receiver.
It's one of the more powerfull receivers in the quad line. With the 4400 at the top the 4300 isn't far behind.
Differences between the 4400 and the 4300.
is only the music power output. the 4400 is rated 2x125 watts RMS 8 ohm
the 4300 is rated 2x100Watts RMS 8 ohm
and in Quad mode: 4X50 for the 4400
4X40 for the 4300
Ofcourse the 4400 has a spacial gadget the scope.
i got the 4300 in a not so good state, on ebay it was listed as fantastic and superb state but it had a lot of damage due to shipping, the idiote seller put in a thin box with some plastic....
well one corner has damage. (i've straightened it a little)
everyrhing still worked!! except for a few lamps
broken
i've completely refurbished it.
all caps have been removed.
pre amp.
Put in panasonic FC
Then i went to power supply.
a also removed a few transistors (C945) and put in toshiba C2240. The remaining transistors where not damaged or tiredly looking.
Then i moved to the Main amplifiers.
50V 220uF Elna's are very old!!! look at the oldfashioned sealing!!
measured 175uF +-
The original power T03 transistor are still in operation!!!!
easy to service!
i've tested the 4300 completely at full power giving 133watts per channel at an 8 ohm load perfectly. stereo swiched.
the 4400 gives 190+-
new lamps..... cleaned the front and knobs..
I almost have all my components for the 2600 repair project.
