Heb het hele verhaal ook al op het AVS-forum geplaatst dus als men het hier niet erg vindt post ik mijn verhaal even in het Engels:

having troubles with the network function of my new receiver (Marantz AV8003) which I cannot get configured.

I have a wireless network at my home with a wireless router installed at the first floor. My HT is at the third floor with my HTPC on top of my Marantz combi. My HTPC has a build in wireless adapter which connects with my router. My HTPC also has a standard build-in LAN port on the motherboard (Asus P5B-V).

What I want is that my Marantz network player can play the content/media which is stored on my HTPC (mp3s etc). (this is possible because the AV8003 has a build-in Media Player)

So, I was told that I have to make a little network of my HTPC and Marantz. I bought a UTP crossed calble and connected this from my HTPC on board LAN to the Marantz LAN port. Enabled the internal LAN port on my motherboard in the BIOS and started up Windows XP. (running SP2). Noticed that when my HTPC was started up I got an LAN icon in my taskbar with a RED CROSS in it. So next thing I did was putting ON my Marantz. The red cross in the icon changed to a 'searching' icon. After one minute or so I got a yellow triangle with a ! in the LAN icon.

So what do I need to do in order to connect my HTPC to the Marantz with my setup?

Allereerst proficiat met de AV8003, we horen graag wat je ervan vindt.

Nu ik vermoed dat het probleem is dat je geen netwerk protocol hebt tussen de receiver en de PC.
De receiver verwacht waarschijnlijk een IP adres die via een DHCP server wordt aangeboden (dit is meestal ingebouwd in de Wifi Routers).
Ik heb geen idee of je op de AV8003 manueel een Ip adres kan ingeven.
Als dit kan voer je een Ip adres in,
bijvoorbeeld 192.168.2.2 en als subnet 255.255.255.0, een gateway heb je niet nodig, maar kan je het IP adres van de PC opgeven.
Maar ook de LAN kaart op de PC moet een IP adres krijgen.

Ik vermoed dat dit zou moeten lukken.
